Rodney Johnston

Associate Director

Rodney is the seventh of 14 children and was born in Sacramento, California. His father moved the family to Utah in 1970 where they have since resided. His father was a tax preparer and also managed different small businesses where he employed his children. They canvassed neighborhoods to advertise for his tax service and worked building medical kits for delivery to clientele for Zee Medical. His father also took the children to their grandfather’s farm to work in the summers which gave them great perspective. He watched his father diligently work many jobs to provide for such a large family and helped deliver newspapers with his mother and siblings to help make ends meet. This helped develop a great desire to learn and to help others become more financially aware and capable.

In Japan at the age of 20 he ran the financial affairs of a volunteer organization for six months and gained a greater appreciation for money and the importance of managing it well as he witnessed the struggles fellow volunteers had with their limited means while changing world markets decreased their buying power. The dollar fell from 265 Yen to 121 Yen while he was there.

Rodney became an Investment Advisor Representative in 2008, seeking to further his ability to assist others in their goals of financial literacy and freedom. He seeks opportunities to improve his reach and understanding. Driven by a passion for his wife Teresa and six children, he is dedicated to becoming a better human being each day.
